As winter comes to a close, so does another season of girls hoops. The team ended with a record of 21 wins and seven losses. It was a season filled with achievements and lots of fun opportunities for team bonding. The team threw parties at their homes following weekend games. Eighth-grader Katie Vasecka was recognized as the most improved player, who stepped up as the season progressed. Coach Luke Swedberg received the Minnesota Girls Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year 2020 award, alongside Assistant Coach Jeremy Biermaier who received the award for Assistant Coach of the Year.

After finishing up her final season of New Prague girls hoops, senior Amanda Giesen told her younger teammates, “Enjoy every minute of the career you have left. Remember that it’s not always about the wins and losses because when you look back, all you will remember is the memories and teammates that made it all worth it.”
