Spring sports have started up and are in full swing; these activities consist of Boy’s and Girl’s Golf, Track, Boy’s and Girl’s Lacrosse, Boy’s Tennis, Boy’s Baseball, and Girl’s Softball.  All sports will be having their first season since 2019 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Softball began their season with a strong 2-0 start. They won against Hutchinson and Tartan so far. Also, Boy’s and Girl’s Track and Field kicked off their season with large victories over Jordan and Orono.

Girls Lacrosse had their first varsity appearance and made the most of it. They beat the Northfield Raiders with a score of 10-6.  The sport was officially added to New Prague High School in 2019. It will be fun to see the program grow and keep up their winning ways.

Boys Lacrosse also has played a few games so far this season. They have had a rocky start, but they hope to have a great season!

As for New Prague Baseball, they won their first game of the year to Rochester Mayo. In 2019, Trojan Baseball made a remarkable State tournament run ending with a 2nd place trophy. This was head coach Tanner Oakes first year leading the team. Oakes and some new additions to the roster will create an exceptional team this season.

It is great to see all of these teams back in action. We have promising starts from our Trojan athletes that will lead to an enjoyable spring season. Make sure to tune in or attend these New Prague spring sports in the next months!
