Swaggert retires after 20 years as activities assistant

After the 2020-21 school year, NPHS will be retiring one of its staff members, Lynn Swaggert. Swaggert has been an activities assistant for 20 years at New Prague. If you have been to a Trojan sporting event, you probably have seen her working it. Through the years, she has also chaperoned for many activities and athletics. In addition, she has been the Prom advisor for New Prague.

Assistant Principal Tom Westchka shared his thoughts about Swaggert and her years here.  “Lynn has been a consistent figure at all New Prague High School Activities.  She is always around at events, taking tickets, organizing celebrations for teams, clubs and groups and always has a smile while doing her job. Her kindness is always appreciated, and those that come to New Prague for events know that Lynn will always be there to help, greet and make sure they have everything they need in order to have a positive experience. Thanks and congratulations to Lynn for all her time and dedication to NPHS and our Activities Department!”

Activities Director Brad Skogerboe talked about her impact on the school. “With Lynn, it’s always been about the kids.  She loves being around the kids and watching them perform.  I hope the kids know how much she cares about them and stop in the office to say “good-bye” before she retires.  She would love it (& I guarantee she will cry as it’s been a tough decision for her).  I’m happy for Lynn to be retiring, but she will definitely be missed!  Thanks for everything, Lynn! You have made a difference in the lives of a LOT of kids over the years!”

Best of wishes to Lynn Swaggert. She will be missed around the school by her colleagues, the staff, and all of the kids.
