New Prague Girls Soccer finished off its 2022 season this fall. The team battled in a tough Metro west conference. They started off their year with a huge 10-3 win against the Hutchinson Tigers. The team ended their regular season by defeating Marshall 3-0. They then received the #4 seed for sections.  The Trojans faced Jordan and lost 1-2 putting an end to their year. 

The team is led by Head coach Matt Anderson, with Ali Jo Hoffman, and Steve Kehrli. Senior Captains include Annie Zweber, Lily Birkholz, and Maddy Boulanger.

Junior Goalie Hannah Langeberg shared her thoughts on the year, “This soccer season was filled with many fun memories and exciting games. One that sticks out most would be the first time we played Jordan. We went into it with high hopes and determination to leave the field with a win. We ended up winning 2-1 leaving with a great feeling of victory. Unfortunately, the second time we battled against Jordan we did not get the outcome we were striving for, and ended our season with a loss.”

The team will graduate a solid group of seniors as follows: Annie Zweber, Maddy Boulanger, Lily Birkholz, Paige Hawley, Ashlyn Seurer, Maggie Jacobson, and Olivia Miller. 

Langeberg also added, “The seniors this year led with courage and spoke with positivity even when the team was feeling down, and helped to encourage us that they believe we can win. They will be missed greatly next year.”
