New Superintendent starts July 1

On July 1st, 2023, New Prague Area Schools will welcome its newly selected superintendent, Andy Vollmuth. Vollmuth will replace the current superintendent, Tim Dittberner, who has served the New Prague community for many years.

Vollmuth has plenty of qualifications for the position. He’s taught in both elementary and middle school classrooms, and he’s been the principal of Normandale Elementary School in Bloomington, Minnesota since 2007. Vollmuth also teaches in post-secondary institutions including Concordia University, the University of Minnesota, and the University of Saint Thomas. In addition to experience, Vollmuth also has several degrees that qualify him for the job, including a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Business, a Master’s degree in Education, and a Doctorate degree in Education.

Vollmuth has three children with his wife Jodi, who also teaches, and he coaches youth sports and volunteers for the Oasis for Youth organization.

Welcome to the New Prague community, Mr. Vollmuth!
