NPHS students celebrate the end of a great homecoming week

The 2019 homecoming pep fest took place Friday, October 4. Ashley Felmlee and Grace Knutson were the announcers for the first part of the celebration. The choir began the gathering by singing the National Anthem, and shortly after they sang and danced to “Treasure” by Bruno Mars. That was a great transition into “Twist and Shout,” performed by Ian Hanson and accompanied by Becca Walsh, Lindsay Bisek, and Alison Kukacka. Vocals aside, routines by the cheer team, dance team, and our very own high school staff were performed in front of a packed gym. Staff wowed the full crowd of students by dancing to popular TikTok songs as they battled each other and finished off their performance with “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X ft. Billy Ray Cyrus.

Ella Ettlin and Hannah Orr announced for pep fest coronation. As each royal couple walked out, the crowd hollered and cheered for their favorite pairs. The crowning was quick but quite anticipated. After all the commotion, it was revealed that Seth Dorner and Sadie El-Wailli won homecoming king and queen.

This year’s homecoming ceremony was packed with all sorts of fun activities and performances, but the greatest part of all was the people of New Prague celebrating it together.
